Richard Luck joined the RAF in 1986. After flying training on Chipmunk, JP5, Gazelle and Wessex he served with the RAF Chinook Force from 1989 to 2000 as pilot, flight commander and squadron second-in-command, flying over 3500 hours in the UK and overseas including Northern Ireland, the Falkland Islands, Bosnia, Northern Iraq, Kenya and Morocco. In this time he qualified as an A2 QHI and as a QHTI and taught students to fly the Gazelle and the Chinook. In September we held our 7th PPL(H) Open Day, a chance for all those budding pilots out there to come along and see whether they could turn dream to reality. This was again a huge success with many new students signing up to one of our PPL(H) training programmes on the day so we have decided to hold another!
